Brynithel entertained Rogerstone on the Rec, but secumbed to a 29-3 deficit by half time.  Rogerstone scored tries in the 14th, 18th, 20th, and 40th minutes to notch up a bonus point.  Brynithel were unable to hold Rogerstone; their defence forming doglegs to invite Rogerstone through at every opportunity.

The second half started exactly like the first, Rogerstone increasing their lead to 3-34.  Then... suddenly Brynithel woke up from their slumber, on 44 minutes a driving maul put Rogerstone under pressure, and Brynithel thundered towards the line at a speed never seen before.  Try Jimmy Meek 10-34.  Just when Brynithel got to the speed of the game, Rogerstone put in two more converted tries on 53 & 57mins just for good measure. 10-48.

However, the final quarter belonged to Brynithel, I dont know whether this was due to tiredness on Rogerstone's part or whether the tactical subsitution to bring on Shaun Pitt changed the game.  Superb handling by both forwards and backs - moving the ball from right to left resulted in a large gap for the aforementioned Shaun Pitt taking an inside ball to run through unopposed - 17-48.  Five minutes before the final whistle Brynithel struck again.  This time Gavin Hayes took an opportunity , run through a gap unopposed again to make the final score 24-48.  This may had been the final score, but both Brynithel and Rogerstone continued to attack. Brynithel in an attempt to get a bonus point, and Rogerstone to put the icing on the cake.  Rogerstone came closest to scoring; their centre making a break from his ten yard line, but was caught just before the try line by Jimmy Meek, who hadn't stop working all the way through the game.  If Brynithel are to compete with the best in the league they must learn to defend properly, a challenge that has now been set for their new coach Ieuan Brookes.
